Rob E McQuay Architects & Associates is an architecture firm that is currently based in St. George, Utah. They have designed some of the most beautiful homes in Southern Utah, which is in addition to a large commercial portfolio in Northern Utah and other projects scattered throughout the country. The homes they design are works of art and their website needed to be consistent with that. So, with design expertise from C. Albrecht Design, we developed a fantastic mix of form and function.

Landing Page

The home page is carefully focused to give the user an immediate sense of the artistic nature of the company. There are three main navigation paths that we desire the user to take. Therefore they are displayed such that they cannot be missed. The look of this page is slightly different than the rest of the site. The benefit of which is a very simple page where the user can easily choose one of three things to do. They are not bombarded with other less-important options.

People

This page allows people to see the expertise in the firm by allowing them to get to know each of the employees and learn of their professional background. The data to populate this page can be entered by just about anyone in the company (whom they choose to give access to) via a user-friendly administrative interface. Most of the fields are optional so they can choose what information to display for each person.

Projects

The projects page shows pictures of recent projects. Since Architecture is so visual, this section of the site ends up receiving a large portion of the traffic. Images are uploaded by employees using the friendly administrator interface. Various image sizes needed for display on the site are created on-the-fly, so it is sufficient for employees to just upload one image of any size. Images have meta-descriptions associated with them to improve visibility to search engines such as Google. Clicking on an image displays an expanded view in a lightbox-style popup.

Publications

Because of their exceptional work, Rob E McQuay Architects & Associates has been featured in many publications. The publications portion of the site enables them to collect these publications, or links to them, in one place. The articles can be uploaded locally as images or text. An external URL can also be provided where the publication can be found. The result is a very consistent display of all publications referencing Rob E McQuay Architects & Associates.
